'The Provence', land of many blessings, has a surface area of 31400 square kilometres. It comprises different 'départements' (departments) : Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Vaucluse. It is in the Vaucluse that we find the golden triangle Gordes-Ménerbes-Bonnieux, in the middle of the 'Parc naturel régional du Luberon' (Regional Natural Park of the Luberon), acknowledged as a world reserve by the UNESCO since December 1997. Without a doubt, Bonnieux, Lacoste and Gordes are the pearls in this natural crown. These magnificent 'villages perchés' (hilltop villages) exude a wealth of tradition in breathtaking surroundings and their authenticity is legendary.
